Phase 1 of my holiday programme will start soon, very soon. Also, this is the first time I’m going to do a trip report. There is always a first, right?

NO NO NO! THIS IS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!

The letter is still left unopened beside my laptop. I don’t want to open it… I don’t want to go NS… People are going to laugh at me! THIS IS BAD I’M GOING TO CRY NOW! WALAO EH!

Anyway, in other news…

I just realised I have a curse. Every time I’m going to Bangkok the airline will always be, no matter what, a budget airline. The last 2 trips to Bangkok back in 2004 (yes, the Tsunami year. I was actually in the hotel room when the earthquake hit Bangkok, but me being the fattest at that time felt nothing), I took Valuair.

Valuair is now taken over by Jetstar and only flies to Indonesia. All the features that Valuair had such as free food and drinks are all replaced by Jetstar features; paying for food, paying for drinks and paying for assistance. Therefore, guess what airline I’m taking now? Yes, Jetstar. How ironic. Never mind, the real deal comes in December. HEHEHE!

Oh, so you don’t believe me that I was in Bangkok in December 26, 2004? I’ll take a picture of my boarding pass later.

Anyway, in other news, I can’t believe that after I’ve found some of the best teachers in my entire education life, they are leaving. It’s a sad day. I have not given them their teacher’s day present yet!

The world is full of unfairness.
Once, a wise man said, “no one is perfect”.
I am considered “fresh”, for I have only lived in this world for 16 years and still going strong.
I am just wondering… if the unfairness I receive now is only temporary or it is going to last for as long as I live.
I suspect the latter.
I have no talents.
I have no capabilities.
I try to make the best of the things I am forced to do.
However, no matter how hard I try, the unfairness will always be the same.
I can practically see my future, filled with hatred and distrust.
Until the world understands who I am, I am just a innocent boy who just wants a normal life.
Unfortunately, the probability of it happening is technically zero because the world will forever be filled with people who just do not want to understand.
Until now, this may seem that I hate my life. On the contrary, I love it. Currently.
However, how am I going to like it in the long run?
There are so many questions I’d like an answer to, but the more questions I ask, the less answers there will be.
So sometimes, I lie on my bed and tell myself the sentence that will be repeated not only in my mind, but in many others as well.
What is that sentence? Refer back to the first sentence.

Yep, it’s confirm. It’s definitely syllabus haywire, to the extent that even the PSLE papers are affected.

So, they fired everyone who does the N Levels and PSLE questions and used the O Level people to do EVERYTHING.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

During this year’s GCE N Levels, I guess I was pretty shocked by the different questions that came out in different papers. They were either out of syllabus or/and unexpected. Now, let me take you a tutorial on today’s topic: Syllabus haywire or on purpose?

Part 1: Combine Science (Physics)

Ah, the wonders of the magnetic field. This is definitely a syllabus haywire. Please note that this type of questions is OUT OF SYLLABUS, yet it appeared in Paper 1. If I remember correctly, the question asked, “Which of the following shows the magnetic field of a magnet?” I was surprised, but thank god for tuition. After the paper, I’ve been blaming my Physics teacher for not teaching us this; it’s not his fault though, as it was indeed out of syllabus. But hey, we only go through secondary school once in our lifetime. Heh.

Part 2: Mathematics Paper 2

Actually, I wouldn’t say that this is done on purpose or call it a syllabus haywire; I’d say it’s done on purpose and it is a syllabus haywire. I mean, what the hell?! Graph sketching? Are you being serious? I thought this was only for Mathematics 4016. It is definitely out of syllabus for Mathematics Syllabus A. Yes, the question is pretty straight forward, but for those who are not taught on how to sketch a graph with proper labelling, this is one hell of a question. Sheesh.

Part 3: Combine Humanities (Geography)

Now, this is the only part that I’d say it’s done on purpose. Map reading (show the grid numbers) came out in the Coast question. Oh, it is in syllabus all right, but this was unexpected as we did not expect this due to references of past year papers. As bimbotic (quote Ris Low, boomz!) as it may sound, but seriously, what’s happening? One final thing… they are giving away marks like it’s free money.

The first part of the Coast question requires you to give the grid references and name the 3 features found. That’s it, 4 marks, boomz! The first part of the Development question requires you to calculate the percentage for the tertiary sector of Australia and the primary sector of Thailand. After that, shade the correct pie chart for the job sectors in Ghana. That’s it, 4 marks, double boomz!

Conclusion

What’s happening? Due to the recession, they fired everyone who plans for the N Levels and bring in the people who does O Levels? Come on! Let’s hope the Accounting paper on Monday will not give us any more surprises. Anyway, despite all this, I’m really glad the N Levels are coming to an end. I need a vacation, I need a rest.

SHOCK AND HORROR, isn’t it? I am finally revising Chemistry. I figured that if I want a distinction for Combine Science, I need to score a distinction for both Physics and Chemistry; or else they will just take the average grade. Also, I realised that a lot of Chemistry is based on memorising. Memorising is hard work, but it’s fun when you know how.
